Difference between Workgroup Edition and Enterprise Edition?

Enact Collaboration Server for the Workgroup Edition can only be hosted by Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP Pro. The Workgroup Edition comes with embedded database (MSDE 2000) and Tomcat web server. You won't need anything else to install the Workgroup Edition. However, it does not support other third party web, application, database and directory servers.

On the other hand, Enterprise Edition supports additional platforms and services:

- Windows 2000 Server, Solaris 8 or 9, or Red Hat Linux 8 or 9

- Microsoft SQL 2000 or Oracle 8.1.7 or 9i, or PostgreSQL 7.3.2

- Microsoft Active Directory (Windows) or Sun ONE Directory Server (Solaris)

- Tomcat (included) or JRUN Application Server

- Microsoft Internet Information Server, Apache Webserver, or Sun ONE webserver

- Third party applications integration support through Enact API

- Customization

- Deployment & migration consultation services

- Add-On Module upgrade

Enact Enterprise Edition provides flexibility and scalability for superior performance in a heavy traffic network environment.
